Website building

A website that earns its keep.

Most small business websites are brochures that cost too much and convert nothing. We build the other kind: fast, plain-spoken pages with one job, turning the person reading into the person calling. The site you are on right now is built exactly this way.

How a build runs

One call

We get your story, your services, your prices if you publish them, and the questions customers actually ask. That call writes most of the site.

Copy before decoration

The words are the product. Direct, honest, in your voice, with real numbers where you have them and no invented ones where you do not.

Built flat and fast

Static pages, no page builder, no plugin stack to break or ransom you later. Every page gets its titles, descriptions and structured data done properly.

Checked, then live

Every link, every page, every claim swept programmatically before launch. Days from the first call, not months.

What every site ships with

One primary action on every page, because a visitor asked to do six things does none. A calculator or honest lead magnet where it genuinely helps. Pages that load fast on a phone on a bad connection, because that is where your customers are.

And no invented anything: no stock photo handshakes, no testimonials that do not exist, no claims we would not make to your face.

Included as standard

  • Per-page titles, descriptions and canonicals
  • Structured data for search engines
  • A sitemap that matches the site
  • Mobile-first layout with an honest tap-target pass
  • Copy written for how people actually read

The showroom

Rather than describe a direction, point at one. Below: what we have actually built, labelled honestly as live or in build, then style demos you can walk through. Every demo is a fictional business, built by us, live and clickable.

Our own builds

Our two venues, this site, and a live proposal. Each card says exactly where it is up to, because a showroom that rounds up is not a showroom.

LANEWAY

Barbershop, Sandgate

The Laneway Barbershop

A Sandgate barbershop. Built as a full working proposal rather than a mockup, so the owner could click through the real thing before deciding. This is what a proposal from us looks like.

The proof is the page you are reading

This site was built on the same pattern we sell: flat, fast, content in one place, every page generated from a single source of truth so a price or claim can never disagree with itself.

If you like how this site reads and moves, that is the product. If you do not, no ad spend was harmed in finding out.

It is not the only one. akomartialarts.com.au, the live site for our own academy, is built the same way, and the Iremia Recovery site launches on it in September. Same pattern, three businesses, all ours, all real.

Common questions

How long does a build take?

Days, once we have had the call and you have answered the questions only you can answer. The slowest part of any website is waiting on content, so we extract it in the call rather than sending you homework.

Can I edit it myself?

Three honest options, and the right one depends on how often you actually change things. One: you send changes and we make them, included in a small monthly care plan. Most businesses change a price or a timetable a handful of times a year and this costs them the least. Two: we wire the pages that genuinely move, usually timetable, pricing and staff, to a simple editor you can use without breaking the layout. That is extra build time and we quote it up front. Three: you take the files and run it yourself, which is free and yours from day one. What we will not do is sell you a page builder you will log into twice and then pay for forever.

Will it work with my booking system?

The site links people cleanly into whatever you already use for bookings. We build around your stack rather than forcing a new one.

What about hosting?

Static sites host on modern infrastructure for almost nothing and there is no plugin stack to maintain. We set it up so you own everything.

Can I see different styles before we start?

Yes. The showroom on this page has live style demos you can click through, plus the real sites we have shipped. Point at the direction that feels like your business and we start from there rather than from a blank page.

What happens if I want to leave?

You take everything. The site is plain files in a repository you own, the domain stays yours, and there is no proprietary editor holding your content hostage. We will hand it over and help your next person pick it up. Leaving being easy is the reason staying is a choice.

Start with a call
